Personally, I haven’t read the manga before, but I think ‘Burn the House Down‘ is pretty good because I enjoy watching characters’ self-growth and redemption rather than just finding out who the culprit is after presenting evidence. As for the ending of ‘Burn the House Down‘，although there are several twists and turns, it feels somewhat rushed and convenient in my opinion, lacking some persuasiveness. That’s something I find regrettable.”

Therefore, initially I had anticipated that ” Burn the House Down ” might involve finding clues about an arsonist or gathering evidence to expose someone similar to what happened in ” The Glory ” After teaching them a lesson once we uncover who did it; then I would reveal my identity afterward~ However, ” Burn the House Down ” does not follow such a pattern.

What I particularly like is how the writer intertwines the present timeline with events from 13 years ago, using extensive flashbacks to connect past happiness and pain. This also allows for a comparison between Anzu Murata’s childhood memories and her current adult perspective on values.
When Anzu Murata was still a little girl, she couldn’t express her feelings or opinions nor could she explain why she had an absolute certainty that her mother wasn’t the culprit. But now that she has grown up, she knows she was right and takes action to solve the problem.
” Burn the House Down ” skillfully expands its characters throughout the story, influencing each other until all of them are interconnected. Despite fire being at the premise of this drama, it cleverly becomes less significant as the audience progresses through it.
Therefore, ” Burn the House Down ” is metaphorical and beautiful rather than what viewers would typically expect from a dark revenge thriller film. In fact, I believe this drama tells an ominous yet beautiful story instead. Although ” Burn the House Down ” begins with tragedy and an intense plot for revenge, its main focus isn’t actually about “revenge,” but rather about “redemption.” In reality, this drama explores themes such as family dynamics, betrayal,and seeking justice.
I think what really touches me about ” Burn the House Down ” is the human moments, when the characters seek support, recognition, or love. In this fire incident, it’s fascinating how each character has their own inner struggles and questions they want answered, hidden secrets.
Even though Anzu Murata seeks revenge, her vulnerability shines through even more. Additionally, I truly appreciate the portrayal of Makiko’s character in ” Burn the House Down “. At first, I really disliked her as she seemed like a typical antagonist.
However, the writer and director delve into deeper issues and gradually reveal different aspects of her personality. We begin to understand why she has such a strong desire for control and mistrust towards everyone around her. As a result, Makiko’s character starts to resonate with the audience on an emotional level rather than being seen as despicable; instead we see her as a pitiful mother filled with regret.Overall, the occurrence of this massive fire stems from greed and forms a tragic story.
” Burn the House Down ” does well in creating suspense and maintaining a sense of mystery. Each episode gradually unveils new clues and hints within its plot structure which intensifies tension. The frequent twists add to its allure by keeping viewers engaged throughout.
Of course, as mentioned earlier, ” Burn the House Down ” shouldn’t be solely viewed as a suspense thriller but rather appreciated as a drama film for better effect~ Perhaps because the writer wanted to blend both genres together at times certain plot elements may seem unnecessary but I believe ” Burn the House Down ” is quite suitable for those who enjoy slow-paced character development since even minor details are given ample time to be presented to viewers.In simpler terms,the writer hopes that audiences can thoroughly savor every aspect of these characters.
